Leixuri Barrena
Founder & Lead Designer
Bio
I’m Leixuri Barrena, founder of We Decor, an interior design studio with an emotional and functional approach. I work remotely on projects across Europe, Mexico, and the United States.
My style blends natural elegance, visual warmth, and a personal touch that deeply connects with the way we live in our spaces.
Story
Where it all begins
I was born in Bilbao, a city in the North of Spain with a strong visual identity, surrounded by nature and bold architecture.
My first professional steps were in the environmental field, where I developed a deep awareness
of how spaces influence our quality of life. There, I learned to see spaces through the lens of
functionality, sustainability, and humanity.

From Nature to Design
Guided by my creative sensitivity, I specialized in landscape design and floral art.
This was my first approach to design through emotion: exploring visual balance, the rhythm of forms, and the beauty that exists in simplicity. It was then that I discovered how nature and aesthetics can coexist in harmony.
The Home as a Refuge
Over time, I found my true vocation in interior design. I began collaborating with studios, real estate companies, and private clients in different countries, and discovered that my greatest motivation was helping people feel good in their homes.
For me, each project is an opportunity to transform a space into something deeper: a reflection of the person who inhabits it.

Design Without Borders
Thanks to my approachable and flexible style, I began working remotely with people across the world: Europe, Mexico, the United States…
This international experience has given me a broad perspective on contemporary design—without
losing sight of what matters most: the soul of the home.

Today
Today I live in Encinitas, Southern California, where my style continues to evolve between my European sensitivity and the relaxed Californian spirit.
From here, I lead We Decor, developing projects that transform houses into soulful homes: functional, warm, and timeless.
For me, decorating is not just about making things beautiful—it’s about creating spaces that support us, reflect us, and invite us to live better.
Shall we talk?
We’d love to help you create a home that looks good and feels even better.
